The Underwriting Exchange National Grand Prix Results

Only four of the fifty-six starters produced double clear rounds in the final leg of the National Grand Prix at Barnadown. Victory went to the Kevin Gallagher ridden, Bugatti X, the 9yo gelding, by Bugatti VDL, out of the Chin Chin mare, Abalia SMH, owned by Kerry McCahill.
Paul Carberry and Brandonview First Edition took the runner-up position, the gap was almost 2 seconds, but it certainly would have been closer but for Paul breaking a stirrup midway through the round. The 9yo gelding is by Douglas Cavalier, out of Brandonview Lady, by Balda Beau and bred by Seamus Drea in Kilkenny.
Gina Prescott's, Billy Guilder, ridden by Edward Doyle Jnr, took third place, and the final double clear round of the competition was Sophie Richards and Gradje O.
Liam O' Meara won the National Grand Prix League for the third consecutive time, aboard, the 15yo stallion Oldtown KC, by Cruising, out of Cloverfields mare, Oldtown Katie.
Eighteen combinations made it through to the jump-off, sixteen jumped, and two withdrew electing to rest their horses for tomorrow's New Heights Champions Series.
